| 目的 剖析威廉•莫里斯的设计思想，展示现代设计的时代精神，为现代设计理念的发展提供理论学基础。方法 运用马克•布洛赫的比较史学方法论和黑格尔的“时代精神”概念理论，探究不同的社会背景下的威廉•莫里斯的设计思想的时代意义和价值。结论 作为“现代运动之父”和“设计改革家”的威廉•莫里斯提出了设计要“为大众服务”的以人为本的民主理念，秉承了“师承自然”的绿色设计理念和设计要达到“功能与美相统一”，并深刻认识到时代和社会系统的共生关系。在不同的时代和社会背景下，威廉•莫里斯的设计思想是设计活动中一直存在的内在核心力量，而设计更是时代精神的展现。 |

| It analyzes the design philosophy of William Morris, shows the spirit of modern design and provides a theoretical basis for the development of modern design philosophy. Applying the Methodology of Comparative History by Marc Bloch and the spirit of the time by Hegel, it explores the significance and value of William Morris's design philosophy in different social contexts. As "the father of modern movement" and "the reformer of design", William Morris puts forward " service the public" the concept of democracy of people-oriented design, which adhere to the " blended from nature" of green design concept, and achieve "the unity of function and beauty", and deeply understanding of the symbiotic relationship between the times and the social system, his design idea is diachronic and prospective. In different times and social background, William Morris design philosophy is the inner core strength, which always exists in the design activities, and the design is the manifestation of the spirit of the times. |
