The work aims to explore the design requirements of the youth groups for the gamification of intangible cultural heritage with Lingnan Lion Dance as the research object, so as to provide a qualitative and quantitative model reference for the design of intangible cultural heritage games. The research method of grounded theory (GT) was applied in the preliminary stage to capture user comments as raw materials for tertiary coding to extract the core scope of Lingnan Lion Dance game design. The categories were used as part of the data analysis of the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) to calculate the weights of the indicators based on the multiple rounds of user evaluations, and to design the game around the importance of the indicators. Finally, the game programme was evaluated through the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation (FCE) method as a way to verify the above indicators. The grounded theory could effectively reduce the influence of subjective factors in the evaluation of indicators in the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process, and provide more scientific and reasonable theoretical guidance. The fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method provided guarantee for the evaluation and optimization of design solutions. The study shows that users pay more attention to the expression of traditional culture in games, as well as to the innovation of visual styling and interaction. The combination of GT-FAHP-FCE makes the design closer to the users' needs and provides a new model reference for the design of intangible cultural heritage games.
