The main points of furniture design for preschool children are sorted out and constructed by combining the user’s needs and the occasion of use with the furniture itself. So it will make the child play with the furniture naturally to promote children’s physical and mental health and comprehensive development in the course of daily fun. The relationship between gameplay-based furniture and children’s development was analyzed, and the necessity of combining preschool children’s furniture design and children’s play was also clarified in the paper. To explore the gameplay of furniture, three main points of preschool children’s furniture design are identified and demonstrated separately. They are person (user), object (furniture) and environment (occasion). A new idea of gameplay-based furniture design for preschool children is put forward, which should meet the needs of both direct users for children’s playmates and indirect users’ wishes for practicality, and also take into account the specific use occasions of the furniture. The goal is to help child grow up happily. For the children’s furniture designer, it may be helpful for discovering creativities and promoting the development of children’s furniture design in the meanwhile.
