To adhere to the development concept of the integration of "humanities and art" under the background of engineering, this paper focuses on the reform and practice of design teaching in the School of Digital Arts, Xi'an University of Posts and Telecommunications. This paper takes "Han and Tang cultural elements" as the starting point of the course, combines the teaching process of the course, focuses on the regional cultural needs, follows the principle of practicality, adapts to the needs of the times and innovates itself, carries out innovative practice from the perspective of experience design and fieldwork and highlights the optimization of "teaching" and "learning" concepts, and leads students to create a series of visual works related to "Han and Tang cultural elements" to increase the soul identity of regional culture and even Chinese culture.Therefore, scientific and reasonable set of relevant courses is particularly critical to the realization of the training goal of applied digital media art talents from the perspective of new liberal arts.
