This paper analyzes the innovative approaches of urban public facilities from the perspective of public art, aiming at the inadequate design results of existing urban public facilities. First of all, the concept of public art and related extension are needed overall discussion, to show an intuitive and profound theoretical cognition; Secondly, on the basis of the previous theoretical discussion, it summarizes the design requirements of human, environment and function and different artistic pursuits. Finally, in combination with the actual situation of the present public art and under the perspective of urban public facilities design, this paper attempst to verify the performance of the facilities in caring for the crowd, catering to the environment and enriching functions, and expounds and summarizes the more open design forms and methods in the design of public facilities, in hopes of improving the practicability of public facilities, artistic and aesthetic to meet the public demand and need. Public art concept in the design process of urban public facilities, is to improve public facilities form and function of the effective attempt, and is also the future direction of urban development. On the basis of highlighting the individualization, specialization and aestheticization of modern urban public facilities, it promotes the urban public space to unleash greater charm and vitality.
