Based on the idea of interactive design, the paper aims to optimize and update the current design of urban public facilities, so as to make it more in line with the actual development needs and people's realistic needs. Firstly, the interaction design was analyzed from the basic conceptual level, and the positive effects of interaction design on the social, environmental and human of public facilities were summarized. Secondly, on the basis of theory, several aspects of the design from the practical level were put forward, and the technology and art, participation and information theory were tested in depth. Through the environmental applicability of public facilities, use convenience, information interaction, etc., the principles and innovative methods it should follow at present were explained. Finally, from the perspective of development, the innovative ideas of interactive urban public facilities design were summarized. The interactive design of urban public facilities is a kind of development idea in line with the actual situation, which is human-centered, respects the real needs of people, and works hard from the interaction. It has strong operability, strong practical value and conforms to the long-term interests.
