Abstract
"Design for sustainable behavior" is one of the important means to guide green lifestyle. The paper aims to explore the theoretical basis, development status and implementation mechanism of design strategy of "design for sustainable behavior". Therefore, through literature review, the theoretical basis of behavior change is firstly sorted out, and the research status of the theories and methods of "design for behavior change" is analyzed. Then, the development status of "design for sustainable behavior" strategy is discussed. Finally, cases are summarized and sorted out. The realization mechanism of persuasion techniques such as visualization, gamification and situational computing under the strategy of "design for sustainable behavior" is proposed. The research shows that "design for sustainable behavior" has a solid theoretical foundation, and has formed a systematic and hierarchical design strategy. With the help of new technologies such as visualization, gamification, and contextual computing, the mechanisms for implementing "design for sustainable behavior" strategies are improving. In the future, more attention should be paid to the influence of society on individual behavior change and the measurement of sustainability indicators.
