Abstract

Based on augmented reality (AR) and bullet screen, a text display system in augmented reality is designed to help users get information more effectively and improve their enjoyment. Based on the features of the bullet screen, a text display system is designed in augmented reality – Foj system, the system which is designed for both single-user video viewing scenarios and multi-user social scenarios. Furthermore, this research makes user tests with the functional prototype of this system built by 3D animation to examine the usability and find improvement directions. In the single-user video viewing scenario, users are most satisfied with the tracking display text, and the Foj system can enhance the users' understanding and enjoyment. In the multi-user social scenario, users' satisfaction with the Foj system hinges greatly on their social frequency. With AR bullet screen text presented on the real world, the Foj system can provide more information for users and effectively improve users' understanding of the current environment. In the single-user video viewing scenario, the system can improve enjoyment and informativeness. Besides, in the multi-user social scenario, the system can help unsociable individuals to obtain useful social information.
