Abstract

To design and construct an integrated protective-assistive night care system to solve the problem of night care for the oldest-old in existing home care services. The study was conducted using the one-day tracking method and household interviews to examine the characteristics of the oldest-old at home, their nocturnal behavioral habits, and the current supply of home care services, and to screen the risk factors for nighttime activities. From the perspective of the concept of continuous care, the study investigates the multiple needs of night care for the oldest-old in the home under the perspective of ERG demand theory, refines the strategies of home care services for the oldest-old in the scenario of getting up at night , and outputs innovative design practices of night care systems to assist the oldest-old to take care of themselves independently. These will provide a new reference path for realizing aging in place , which is aging in place and care at night .
