Abstract

This research aims to analyze the cultural elements of fishing village in detail in the design of modern shipbuilding furniture products and explore the strategies of applying the local folk culture in the design of fishing village furniture. Based on the field investigation of Dongchu Island fishing village culture in Rongcheng area, Shandong Province, through the investigation of ship wood material, residential furnishings, woodwork technology, innovation and creativity and the collection of "fishing village" cultural elements, in combination with the customs and habits in the coastal area of Jiaodong Peninsula, the innovative concept and aesthetic thinking of ship wood furniture design were demonstrated by using the principle of design art. In conclusion, ship wood furniture is the material carrier of marine fishing village culture. Its design thinking pays attention to the material characteristics of ship wood, rough structure, simple and fashionable functional form, and shows the aesthetic attribute of fishing village life and culture elements. The innovative design of modern boat wood furniture products will have had important practical significance for the protection and inheritance of China's national traditional fishing village culture.
