Abstract

This paper aimsto investigate the feasibility of cultural translation of Chinese characters and ethnic minority scripts in terms of font morphology, and preserve and inherit the pluralistic font culture of ethnic scripts, expand innovative research on the design of Chinese characters with minority cultural characteristics, serve the cultural construction of ethnic regions, and boost the image of the national brands. By using "cultural translation" to extract the stylistic features of Mongolian script, this paper uses the Mongolian-Chinese script to translate the material, behavioural and spiritual layers of Chinese culture. After acquiring the results of the selection of stylistic elements, the construction of the Mongolian-Chinese transliteration method, and the path to cognitive experience, the design and optimisation of the Chinese characters are designed to enable the upgrading of the national brand, thus improving the expression of the national cultural connotation of the Chinese characters. Based on the excavation of Mongolian diverse character patterns, the design method exploration of cultural transcription of Mongolian-Chinese script pattern, the design of Mongolian-Chinese script, and the practice of ethnic regional brand optimisation are completed. The innovative design of Mongolian-Chinese script based on the perspective of cultural transcription is to build a bridge for the integration of ethnic characters and Chinese characters from the perspective of design, which is conducive to deeply exploring the cultural connotation of ethnic characters and the heritage and design innovation of Chinese characters, thus supporting the promotion of the healthy development of Chinese character design in China and empowering the cultural and creative industries and communication business in ethnic areas.
