Abstract

The work aims to review the 3D printing materials and technologies, analyze the market demand for lumbar healthcare braces, explore the possibility of combining 3D printing technology with traditional medical brace design, and consider the balance and coordination between individuality and adaptability, art and functionality, unit cost and manufacturing speed. With the lumbar healthcare braces as the entry point, the moldable process (3D printing design improvement of the same material) was focused with the help of SLS and SLA printing technologies, and research at the level of increasing the plasticity of the shape and more conceptual design strategies was conducted. Based on the needs of use, technology and personality, a 3D printed lumbar healthcare brace with magnetic therapy efficacy and customized features was designed. After experimental testing, the wearability was good and the indicators met the design expectations. Material research will still be the focus in the future development direction of 3D printing. In addition to the diversification and wisdom of materials, the interaction and efficiency of technology will also further refresh the manufacturing concept of human society; the effective use of the convenience and customizability of 3D printing technology is bound to become an important research and development and exploration direction for future "customizable" barrier-free product design.
