Aided Rapid Design Technique for Folding Fans with Hollow Engraving and Woven Patterns

Abstract

The work aims to solve the problems of single design form, lack of design ideas and low design efficiency of folding fans with hollow engraving. Based on the secondary development platform of CorelDRAW, the rapid design technique for the design of woven patterned folding fans with hollow engraving was developed with the computer-aided design technology, and a professional auxiliary tool was developed, taking into account the design guidelines and manufacturing process requirements of the folding fans. The user can quickly generate a base texture with the auxiliary tool, then the user can process the imagery with greyscale and information analysis to generate an image-mapped texture, and finally obtain the pattern scheme for each fan framework through pattern weaving, fan framework design, pattern segmentation, etc. Through the prototype and evaluation of the output, the reliability and usability of the design tool are demonstrated, showing that the tool can be used to expand the design ideas, improve the design efficiency and promote the cultural dissemination and industrial development of the folding fans with hollow engraving.
