The work aims to study the innovative design methods for application of painted pottery elements in Dahe Village in modern cultural and creative design, so as to activate the inheritance path of painted pottery culture in Dahe Village. Firstly, the artistic characteristics of painted pottery in Dahe Village were analyzed, and the visual elements with the most characteristics of Dahe Village were screened and extracted. Then, the extracted pattern elements were designed with shape grammar, and the pattern skeleton structure was innovated by the superposition method. Finally, the innovative pattern design was completed by combining the visual elements such as color, composition and shape of the painted pottery in Dahe Village. This innovative design method, which combines shape grammar and pattern skeleton design, not only innovates in the painted pottery elements of Dahe Village, but also integrates traditional and modern cultural and creative design, which expands the visual form of painted pottery in Dahe Village and helps the spread of traditional culture.
