Abstract

The work aims to conceptualize and structuralize the interaction relationship between people and products, and give an explanation model of the interaction experience to support the interactive design practice. Based on the post-phenomenological person-thing-world "mutually shaping theory", a cross-situational framework based on reciprocal relationships was analyzed. In this framework, users, products, and contexts were placed on a dynamic continuum to distinguish four interaction relationships and their experiential characteristics:embodiment relations, hermeneutic relations, alterity relations, and background relations. This framework responds to the generative, experiential and extensible characteristics of human-product interaction as a whole. It not only makes the construction and verification of user experience, interaction context, and prototyping clear, but also focuses on hybrid physical spaces, especially providing ideas for IoT and smart product design.
