The work aims to study the IP image design of cultural symbols of Lingnan plaster sculpture as intangible cultural heritage and explore a new path for the innovative development of intangible cultural heritage. By collecting and sorting out plaster sculpture materials in different areas of ancient buildings in Lingnan, and then taking the plaster sculpture culture in the gable wall and lintel area as an example, the plaster sculpture culture of Lingnan was deconstructed and analyzed based on the two dimensions of the extension layer and the connotation layer of symbolic semantics theory, and the cultural symbols of plaster sculpture were condensed and transformed. Focusing on the plaster sculpture "prayer" cultural symbol, the IP image of cultural symbols was designed and transformed from three aspects:"skin, flesh and bone". Based on cultural "extension" and "connotation" layers, the IP image of cultural symbols in Lingnan plaster sculpture is helpful to the modern inheritance and design of Lingnan plaster sculpture, realizing the modern protection of traditional culture.
