The work aims to systematically present and analyze the research progress of smart public cultural services in China in the past 10 years. Related literature on smart public cultural services from China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) from 2011 to 2021 was used as the data source with bibliometric method. Citespace was adopted to quantitatively analyze and visualize the research literature on smart public cultural services. Combined with literature review, the characteristics and time distribution of published articles, cooperation network, research hotspots and knowledge evolution context were analyzed. The function fitting of the number of published papers predicts that the number of papers in the field of smart public cultural services will continue to increase in the future. Scholars in the field of smart libraries have a strong sense of cooperation. But overall, research scholars and institutions in the field of smart public cultural services still need to strengthen exchanges and cooperation. The research hotspots in this field can be classified into three directions:smart technology, public cultural infrastructure, and the development path of smart public cultural services. According to the knowledge evolution context of "diversification-digital technology and cultural carrier-user principal-segmented population" in this field, the prospect of relevant research trends is proposed.
