Abstract

Aiming at the adaptability of current home fitness equipment and home environment, the work aims to analyze the needs of fitness furniture and its adaptability to home environment. Based on the increasing demand of home fitness, the existing problems of home fitness equipment and home environment were analyzed, and the design path of the fitness furniture was explored. With the fitness armchair as an example, the design practice was carried out and the verification was conducted according to the Finite Element Analysis. The maximum deformation of the armchair with two- way resistance mechanism was 0.375 mm and 0.260 mm under two extreme use conditions and the maximum stress was 1.56 MPa and 1.50 MPa, respectively, all of which were within the allowable stress of elm material under the factor of safety 4.0 and complied with GB 3326-2016 standard. Thus, the functions of fitness and seating could be realized. Fitness furniture can meet the needs of fitness, but also can be integrated into the home environment and the design path is feasible.
