Abstract

Starting with the concepts and issues of digital games of intangible cultural heritage, the work aims to take the digital gamification strategy as a research carrier to explore the design strategies of applying digital games and combination of virtual and physical technologies in the digital protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, and promote the digital innovation of intangible cultural heritage. Contemporary design concepts and methods were employed to integrate the physical content of intangible cultural heritage and virtual game content from the aspects of game story, mechanism, aesthetic design and other aspects, explore the game design process and methodology model, and propose a new path of digital dissemination of intangible cultural heritage integrating virtual and physical objects. The design strategy of digital gamification experience of intangible cultural heritage was established and a game combining virtual and physical objects on Nuo mask culture was designed and developed. Thus, the feasibility of the game strategy was verified. Firstly, the digital technology is fully used to display the connotation of Nuo culture, thereby promoting and spreading the excellent traditional Chinese culture more widely. Secondly, the gamification design strategy can help cultural dissemination, which enables the audience to better learn and feel the charm and essence of the traditional intangible cultural heritage, reflecting the "edutainment" concept. Thirdly, the advancement of technology provides more possibilities for the development of intangible cultural heritage games. Through the integration of physical and virtual content, it adds more advantages to improve the immersion and fun of intangible cultural heritage games.
