The work aims to analyze and study the composition characteristics of Chinese traditional character Xi and Xi elements based on the traditional Chinese auspicious culture, so as to explore the composition modes of various forms of Xi patterns. Firstly, from the understanding of the cultural connotation and origin and development of Xi, the profound inner meaning of Xi culture was clarified, and the combination rules between the distinctive traditional Xi cultural relics patterns in the related cultural relics with Xi patterns were analyzed, which led to the thinking of the current situation of modern Xi cultural design, and how to realize more recognizable Xi design. Finally, a methodological summary was made on the glyph combination structure and expression mode of Xi redesign. It is necessary to realize the personalized and emotional transformation of contemporary Xi design, and to make full use of diversified media to carry out the innovative design of Xi culture based on the traditional auspicious patterns of character Xi.
