Abstract
The work aims to compare and analyze the similarities and differences in usability of interface design in China and abroad, and find out the current research status and problems in China. WOS and CNKI databases were used as data sources, and the existing literature was visualized by scientific bibliometrics. The trend of literature output of interface design usability research in China and abroad is consistent, with an overall upward trend, but it fluctuates greatly and has a downward trend in recent years. The dominant universities in engineering and computer related disciplines are the research subjects. Hot research topics in China and abroad have both similarity and heterogeneity and the similarity is shown in the overall consistency of research topics. For example, four main research clusters have been formed, Chinese and foreign academic circles attach importance to user research, emphasis is put on the perspective of users, and strong interdisciplinary integration characteristics are presented. In terms of heterogeneity, the international academic circle pays more attention to basic theoretical research, while Chinese academic circle emphasizes more specific applied research and the academic data collection and analysis methods in China need to be enriched. Its innovation and research characteristics are not strong, so it is necessary to develop its own research characteristics, which is the main limitation of research in China at present.
