Henan ancient architecture colored painting art is an important part of Zhongyuan culture in the Yellow River basin. Through the research on the translation and application of Henan ancient architecture colored painting art in household product design, the work aims to explore the path of inheritance of ancient architecture colored painting art in daily life scenes, and expend the design methods of household products, which can help to create a Chinese home style atmosphere and lead people to understand and promote the Chinese traditional home culture. The information about the colored paintings found in ancient architecture in Henan were collected and classified. The representative symbolic elements were summarized and extracted from these paintings. The cultural factors present in these symbolic elements were analyzed and their application in the design of modern household products was explored. The factors such as "structure", "form", "color", and "semantic" of colored paintings in ancient architecture were clarified. By the base operation, these factors were combined to create a new and comprehensive model for designing household products. Through the redesign of artistic elements and symbolic features of Henan ancient architecture colored painting, the combination of Henan ancient architecture colored painting art and household product design will make the products meet the needs of contemporary consumers and enhance their cultural added value, so as to explore the diversified development path of household products.
