The work aims to research the translation path of Mongolian embroidery and Chinese characters, and construct a new method for the digital dissemination of Mongolian embroidery from the perspective of cultural and symbolic translation. Firstly, the theory of formation and meaning in Chinese character studies was applied to analyze the strokes, components, and structure of Chinese characters; Secondly, Mongolian embroidery patterns were analyzed, disassembled, and extracted in combination with Chinese character studies and the signifier and signified proposed by Saussure in semiotics; Furthermore, the above analysis conclusions were organized to form a graphic language translation unit based on stroke databases and component databases; Finally, Chinese character translation samples for Mongolian embroidery were generated based on the database. The translation path of the patterns of Mongolian embroidery and Chinese characters was summarized; Chinese characters were combined and generated from the components of the database to form a Chinese character form with Mongolian embroidery elements and features. The translation path composed of Chinese character studies and semiotics empowers the active transformation of Mongolian embroidery, promotes the innovative development of intangible cultural heritage from the perspective of cultural transformation and regeneration, and forms a new form of digital research on Mongolian embroidery with dissemination and diversity.
