Abstract

The work aims to propose a design strategy for the digital collection, protection, and dissemination of traditional mural colors from a design perspective. Through the "cloud image color data collection technology+digital interaction mini program construction", the digital extraction and dissemination of traditional mural colors can be achieved, promoting the inheritance, protection, dissemination, and innovation of traditional color culture. With the murals in the Yongle Palace as the research object, based on case studies and literature studies, cloud image clustering algorithm was used to digitally extract and summarize the colors of the murals based on objects. Combined with the experience characteristics of the digital platform, a mini program for the mural color in the Yongle Palace was built to provide data and path support for the protection of mural color information and the transformation in contemporary design. Digital extraction and interactive collection and dissemination of shape and color information in Chinese traditional murals through design, pattern and digital technology can not only better protect and promote Chinese traditional color culture, but also provide accurate color data support for various designs with China-Chic themes.
