Abstract

The metaverse is becoming a new field for practice of educational innovation. The work aims to explore how metaverse virtual spaces can be better integrated into university education. Based on the analysis of the constituent elements of the new metaverse educational space and the scenarios of its application, the design concept of the metaverse university educational space was outlined, its design means were explored to enhance the effect of the metaverse university educational space from five aspects:space, interaction, context, operation and management. The educational space in metaverse era was not only a data space constructed by technology, but also a digital campus with a humanistic atmosphere and interpersonal temperature, which focused on the user's sense of presence, immersion and experience, ensured the ecology and normalization of the metaverse education space, completed and surpassed the traditional educational space in terms of functionality and service, and ultimately realized an inclusive educational space ecology of openness and sharing. The development of the metaverse university educational space needs to understand its educational attributes, avoid the risk of technological cages caused by its technological prominence, and promote a good interaction cycle between technology and education.
