In order to accurately communicate drug information to elderly users, improve the safe, scientific, and standardized use of drugs in the elderly population, meet the functional and aesthetic needs of elderly users in reading drug information, and thus enhance the visual reading experience, the work aims to construct an AHP-TOPSIS fusion model to explore the visualization of drug information on the outer packaging of commonly used drugs for the elderly. Firstly, the AHP method was used to build a hierarchical model of the needs of elderly users. The geometric mean was used to calculate the weight of each indicator, and the solution was conceived based on the priority ranking of the weight.Based on TOPSIS method, the design scheme was comprehensively evaluated and the best design scheme was obtained. The design scheme was further optimized and then evaluated and verified. The visualization design model for age-appropriate drug packaging that integrated AHP and TOPSIS could provide a more accurate analysis of users' actual needs and weight calculations, standardize the design process, and optimize and validate the best design scheme to ensure that the final design could effectively improve the accuracy and speed of information reading for elderly users. The combined AHP and TOPSIS model can avoid neglecting the actual needs of elderly users due to the difference between the designer’s subjective factors and the user's age and improve the rationality of the design scheme. The method can provide a reference for the information visualization design of similar age-appropriate product packaging.
