Abstract
The work aims to form a unique decorative pattern from the formation, extraction, transformation and application of the symbolic elements of the "trilobite" fossil image and apply these elements in modern ceramic decorative creations. The research methods of iconology, semiotics and fieldwork were used to pass on and develop the non-renewable resources in a "living" way. The integration of the "trilobite" fossil image symbols as decorative techniques and artistic expressions in modern ceramic art creation was explored, so as to produce an intrinsic correlation and analyze the expression method path of transforming trilobite fossil image symbols from the level of technique. From the level of art, how to shape the compatibility and artistic quality of the two decorative designs was discussed. From the practical case level, through the field study on trilobite fossil, the information about its image and structure material was obtained and sublimated for artistic creation. The creation process was analyzed and then the ceramic work creation forms of the case artists were investigated, so that different creative language expression paths were obtained. From the value level, the creation paths of trilobite fossil image symbols and modern ceramics were analyzed, thus putting forward a high degree of material and spiritual value. It is concluded that the innovative expression of modern ceramic traditional skills can be continued, to protect the non-renewable resources and avoid the over-exploitation of ecological resources.
