Since the advent of the innovation era, the design of guidance systems has been limited to traditional methods and means and confined to the intervention of single disciplines, resulting in a homogenized and uniform appearance across cities and a lack of diverse integration and infiltration. The work aims to reconstruct the "Grand Design" concept, and provide new ideas and research reference for the current research on the design of the guidance system. To address these issues, from the perspective of the "Grand Design", the design served as an integrating medium, undergoing multi-disciplinary expansion, separation, cross-disciplinary fusion, and multi-directional evolution, while transitioning to a new paradigm driving innovation, resetting design ideas, and processes, re-evaluating the design around us, redesigning it to give new forms and functions, diluting the division of design, resetting the design origin, exploring design process priorities and social-cultural values, and further verifying its scientific and practical feasibility through case studies. Only by thoroughly and carefully grasping the guidance system and applying the research and strategies of the "Grand Design", can we endow it with new roles and missions, and advocate for actions, creativity, and change, and explore the effective path and design guide to break the "labyrinth" "on the scene".
