Abstract
To address the issue of declining weaving techniques of the Xiaohualou loom, the work aims to study the design of digital education for weaving techniques based on ARCS motivation theory, so as to enhance learners' attention, understanding, confidence, and satisfaction during the learning process. The ARCS motivation theory was combined with the knowledge of weaving techniques specific to the Xiaohualou loom to divide the digital education approach into three educational units, including interactive display design of the Xiaohualou loom, modular disassembly of the loom structure, and the physical model control and simulation design. The Unity platform, in conjunction with the Arduino development board, was employed to create a comprehensive digital education scenario from basic to advanced levels. Through the comparison of experimental results, the digital education approach based on ARCS motivation theory is feasible and practicable. This approach significantly enhances knowledge accessibility, educational interactivity, and knowledge acceptance of the weaving techniques of Xiaohualou loom, providing valuable reference value and practical significance for the preservation and development of Shu brocade weaving techniques.
