Abstract

The work aims to propose an innovative scheme of Weixian native cloth patterns based on shape grammar to inherit and develop the native cloth culture in Weixian County and enhance the economic and social value of the culture industry in Weixian County. First, the collected data of Weixian native cloth patterns were extracted, screened and combined. Then the core patterns were extracted and the basic graphic elements were designed by shape grammar. Finally, the basic graphic elements were evolved by shape grammar and a new pattern scheme was designed. In conclusion, this scheme design not only retains the traditional folk culture characteristics of Weixian native cloth, but also keeps up with the pace of the times, and fits well with the contemporary aesthetics. The organic combination of innovative patterns and design products will form cultural and creative products of Weixian native cloth characteristics, publicize Weixian native cloth, and establish national confidence.
