Abstract
The work aims to design a bathing product for the assisted elderly that is more in line with their real needs, to enhance the experience and satisfaction of the assisted elderly during bathing and improve the quality of life of the assisted elderly. Firstly, the original needs of users were obtained through questionnaire survey method and interview method. Secondly, a user journey map was drawn to analyze the bathing behavior path of the elderly requiring wheelchairs in depth and excavate their hidden needs. Then, the KJ method was used to categorize the needs and get the hierarchical structure of user needs. Next, the weights of the need points were calculated by the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Finally, the design elements were divided and transformed into corresponding functions according to the priority to generate the design solution. Based on the user journey map and AHP, the key needs of the assisted elderly for the bathing product were precisely located, and the bathing product was designed to meet the needs of the users, improving their satisfaction. Through the combination of user journey map and AHP, the design method is validated by taking the bathing product for the assisted elderly as the object of research, which provides a reference for the design and research of the bathing product for the elderly.
