Abstract

The work aims to design an electric displacement bed with aesthetic, safe, convenient and labor-saving characteristics by combining KANO model and Kansei engineering design. The needs of critically ill patients and medical staff were classified and described through user profiling, and the KANO method was used to prioritize these needs to obtain information on priority elements of design. Then, an electric displacement bed sample library was established, and the Likert seven level scale was used to transform fuzzy perceptual semantics into design element data which required for the design of an electric displacement bed. Based on the above research, a design mode of electric displacement beds that focused on user expectations needs and exciting needs was constructed, and a safe, labor-saving, and easy-to-use design scheme was completed. In conclusion, the integration of KANO model and kansei engineering can accurately capture the hierarchy of user needs and design focus in product development. By combining qualitative and quantitative analysis, the corresponding relationship between product design and user needs can be established, which helps optimize designer's design decisions and improve user satisfaction with electric displacement beds.
