Abstract

The work aims topropose the design strategies for children's public entertainment facilities that can enhance children's subjective well-being. Firstly, through Chinese and foreign data analysis, the children's subjective well-being, children's entertainment facilities and other factors were defined, and the samples of children's public entertainment facilities that could reflect children's subjective well-being were collected (100 items). Secondly, five design researchers screened the preliminary samples and obtained the samples (20 items) of children's public entertainment facilities with representative subjective well-being. Additionally, 60 children evaluated the subjective well-being of the 20 samples by sorting out the cards. Finally, 6 designers conducted analysis based on the children's evaluation results of subjective well-being and adopted grounded theory to extract design strategies of public entertainment facilities that could influence children's subjective well-being. Based on the subjective well-being, the design of children's public facilities should focus on aspects such as happy themes, happy materials, happy shapes, and happy functions, which allows designers to quickly come up with design ideas and concepts of building children's entertainment facilities based on subjective well-being, so that the designed children's public entertainment facilities can promote the improvement of children's subjective well-being.
