The design innovation of China's daily-use ceramics in the 20th century was formed under the joint action of internal and external dynamics within the modern porcelain industry system, largely relying on the mechanism of technological advancement. The work aims to explore the driving forces behind the decorative design innovation of new Chinese daily-use ceramics, and the mechanism of interdependence and constraints of various elements. With Jingdezhen blue and white rice pattern porcelain as a case study, its four dynamic elements of generation foundation, macro-structure, micro-events and internal concepts were elaborated from the perspective of the history of technology. Under the innovation mechanisms of generating design prototypes, determining design standards, establishing industry models, and inventing design "traditions," the blue and white rice pattern porcelain is identified as one of the "four traditional famous porcelains" of Jingdezhen and has become a model of innovation among the daily-use ceramics in modern China in the 20th century due to the national and modern decorative design characteristics.
