Abstract
In order to enhance the age-friendliness of furniture products and improve the satisfaction of elderly users with nursing beds, the work aims to construct a design method of age-friendly home nursing beds based on AHP-AD-TOPSIS. Firstly, 22 initial user demands were obtained through the design research, and the AHP method was used to determine the weights of user demands with different attributes, prioritizing the relatively important ones. Secondly, in order to match the engineering design parameters in research and development and production of nursing beds, according to the principle of independence axiom in AD, the functional domain of age-friendly home nursing beds was mapped to the design domain, and the design rationality and optimal solution were judged by solving the design matrix, so that the technical parameters of mass production engineering in enterprises were defined and the solution was designed accordingly. Finally, the TOPSIS method was applied to comprehensively calculate and rank the design solutions and select the best design. The integrated AHP-AD-TOPSIS method for designing home nursing beds could accurately determine the weights of user demands, scientifically translate design parameters and objectively evaluate the best design solutions, optimizing and enhancing the design of home nursing beds. This study can serve as a reference for the design and research of similar age-friendly home products and provide a theoretical paradigm and pathway for research on such products.
