Abstract

With the comprehensive advancement and development of Chinese-style modernization culture construction, western culture, as a valuable resource in the western region, urgently needs revitalization and innovation. Starting from the perspective of integrating diverse information from western cultural resources and aiming at innovation, fusion, and design application of cultural resources, a double helix model system from the field of life sciences was introduced. It took the independent development trends of western historical culture and ethnic folklore culture, as well as their converging development, as dual-chain pathways for the fusion and innovation of western cultural resources. Based on three levels of cultural resource selection, breakthrough in cultural content, and cultural design construction, a double helix model for cultural resource innovation, tailored for design purposes, was developed. The model was further deconstructed and systematically applied. The western cultural resource fusion double helix model, from a comprehensive perspective, is rooted in the collaborative integration of diverse cultural elements. It provides new avenues and references for the high-quality development of western cultural innovation and injects fresh perspectives and methodologies into the design of western cultural and creative products.
