With the cultural heritage of Helan Rock Paintings as the subject of research in local cultural graphic design innovation, the work aims to guide design practices with integrated concepts and explore how innovative design can drive local culture towards international recognition while preserving contemporary value. Firstly, the "local value" of Helan Rock Paintings was sorted out. Secondly, the advantages of merging internationalism with the "faithfulness, expressiveness, and elegance" criteria were extracted to develop a set of easily reusable and efficiently communicative design concepts. Finally, the design practices guided by these design concepts were demonstrated. A "translational" design concept was constructed, providing valuable insights for the international dissemination of local culture through design innovation.The study offers a practical example for the international dissemination of graphics in Helan Rock Paintings and demonstrates the effectiveness of the "translational" design concept. By merging ancient rock art patterns with modern international visual language, Helan Rock Paintings can retain their unique cultural value while meeting cultural development needs in contemporary society. This study provides both theoretical and practical references for innovative design in contemporary local culture.
