The work aims to analyze and summarize the latest research trends and tendencies in multi-sensory experiences and applied technologies in domestic cultural heritage museums, and explore achievements of academic research in this field, so as to provide references for the multi-sensory experience theory and practical applied research in contemporary cultural heritage museums. Based on the PRISMA guide, 431 multi-sensory experience documents from the CNKI, WFPD and VPCS from 2013 to 2022 were analyzed by combing and visualizing the data through combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. Current research generally neglects in-depth exploration on the role of each sensory stimulus, as well as the collection and analysis of relevant data; Domestic cultural heritage museums mainly rely on traditional audio-visual experience in exploring multi-sensory experience solutions, and the framework of the multi-sensory experience evaluation system has not yet been improved; The are relatively small and insufficient user-centered studies on the evaluation of multi-sensory experiences in domestic cultural heritage museums. At present, the research on multi-sensory experiences in domestic cultural heritage museums is in the development stage. Most of the studies are still limited to case studies. Effective design of multi-sensory experiences can only be achieved by ensuring the quality of multi-sensory experiences and the accuracy of cultural contents, and by better understanding experiences and feelings of visitors. Therefore, it is necessary to construct a systematic and comprehensive multi-sensory experience evaluation system for cultural heritage museums to guide the construction of cultural heritage museums in China.
