Abstract
The work aims to construct a self-management service system for elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis based on the mobile medical and health intervention platform and information technology with economical and portable mobile devices as the carrier, so as to improve the interconnection of information among patients, doctors, family members, and other stakeholders, and enhance the self-management of patients' rehabilitation and experience in the aging society.Starting from patients with knee osteoarthritis of different disease stages, their families, and professional physicians, service system design theories and methods were used to carry out a systematic study around the patients' life and rehabilitation process, analyze their design needs, and construct functional modules. For elderly knee osteoarthritis, which had a high incidence rate, a long treatment period, and an emphasis on self-management after leaving the hospital, an interconnected, easy-to-use, and efficient "iBONE" knee osteoarthritis self-management system was designed. A patient-centered self-management and rehabilitation ecosystem was formed by relying on the software and equipment terminals. In conclusion, in the aging society, it is feasible and essential to use service design theories and methods to empower the mobile health intervention model in the home context and to realize intelligent, home-based, and refined chronic disease self-rehabilitation management through the systematic design of intelligent hardware and mobile terminals.
