Abstract
The work aims to improve the comfort and autonomous participation of the elderly with lower limb disabilities in using wheelchairs in the home environment, so as to meet the multi-level physical and psychological needs of the elderly. The integrated method of scenario analysis and DEMEL was mainly used to assist innovative design decisions, supplemented by human-machine state comfort evaluation. The scenario analysis method was used to analyze the scenario elements of the elderly, wheelchairs, and home environment and the interaction among the three, determine the scenario conflicts, and establish design protocols, so as to obtain the expected demand indicators of wheelchairs for the elderly. Combined with the DEMEL analysis method, the interaction relationship between the requirements elements and its degree of importance in the system were identified and analyzed, so as to guide the design practice. Finally, the JACK simulation software was used to analyze and verify the human-machine comfort of the design scheme. Through the integrated method of scenario analysis and DEMATEL, the design practice of the wheelchair for the elderly is carried out and the design scheme has passed the human-machine comfort verification of JACK virtual simulation, which is in line with the design expectations and provides a certain reference idea for the design of related age-appropriate wheelchair products.
