Abstract

The long-necked bottle is a typical representative of ancient household products. The work aims to take its image text as the research object and focus on the spatial characteristics of orientation, weight, and size in its image and its role as a medium in the transformation of the ancient display space pattern, to propose a visual analysis model for the image space. A spatial grammar analysis framework was constructed for the long-necked bottle image texts with the cognitive literacy function of linguistic grammar and the meaning pointing function of visual grammar. The interpretation was formed on the graphic dimension of spatial literacy, the graphic linkage dimension of spatial interaction, and the graphic meta-dimension of spatial main idea. The study of the long-necked bottle and its image-space bond has opened the dialog window of image-space understanding, paved the arrival system of image-space meaning, condensed the symbolic account of image-space production, and formed a spatial research view for the confluence and mutual reflection of ancient household products and the material carriers on which they depend.
