Abstract
With the increasing pressure of modern social life and the increasing prominence of adults' mental health problems, the work aims to integrate healing design thinking into the design of digital picture books for adults in view of the emotional and psychological needs faced by adult readers, and propose a new picture book design methodology to provide emotional support and psychological relief for adult readers. Firstly, the process of emotional healing was divided into three levels, including superficial healing, middle healing, and deep healing. Secondly, through the form of questionnaire survey, the emotional needs of the target population were investigated, and the design opportunity points were obtained, and the pain points and needs sorted out were converted into functional points under emotional healing, and the connection was constructed with the design level of digital picture books for adults, and three design strategies were proposed, including emotional cognition and connection based on superficial healing, emotional resonance and release based on middle healing, and emotional healing and reconstruction based on deep healing. Finally, a healing picture book was created with adult anxiety as an example to verify the feasibility of this strategy. The introduction of emotional healing into digital picture book design can arouse the emotional resonance of readers, meet the psychological needs of adult readers, help them relieve stress, improve psychological well-being, and promote mental health. At the same time, it provides new ideas and methods for the field of digital picture book design, and demonstrates the great potential of applying the concept of healing design to the creation of digital picture books for adults.
