Aiming at the current situation of street furniture development in Guilin, the work aims to explore the design direction and improvement strategy of urban street furniture in Guilin by symbiosis theory. The current situation of street furniture facilities in Guilin was analyzed and the existing deficiencies and defects were put forward. The symbiotic relationship in the creation of street furniture in Guilin under the theory of symbiosis was discussed and the characteristics of human nature, ecology, and interactivity embedded in the street furniture were expounded. Finally, combined with the principles of urban aesthetics and the enhancement strategy of modern design concepts, the connotation of the design of public facilities in Guilin was enriched. The symbiosis theory guides the design of street furniture in Guilin, which can effectively show the regional cultural characteristics, and also maps out the tolerance and care of the city. By analyzing the symbiotic relationship between humanistic spirit and urban street furniture, street furniture and ecological environment, and users and street furniture, the research can provide all-round and multi-angle inspiration and reference for the principles and methods of urban street furniture construction in the future.
