Abstract
The work aims to explore innovative methods for the visual image design of the Luoyang Urban Cultural Living Room based on regional culture. Initially, through the collection and summary of literature, a spectrum of cultural elements was constructed. Concurrently, user interviews were conducted and through word frequency statistics and comprehensive analysis, key points of design requirements for a visual image of the Luoyang Urban Cultural Living Room integrating regional culture were discovered. By considering the three basic principles of cultural structure, the spectrum of cultural elements was optimized and categorized hierarchically, thus establishing design requirement indicators. Subsequently, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was utilized to create an evaluation matrix for weight analysis, thereby guiding the design scheme. Ultimately, the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) was employed to calculate the positive and negative ideal solutions, as well as the relative closeness of each scheme, eliminating the influence of subjective factors and selecting the optimal design scheme. The findings revealed that the main influential factors for constructing the visual image of the Luoyang Urban Cultural Living Room were modern diversity, inclusiveness, openness, and the Mingtang Paradise. In practical design, these elements should be given primary consideration. Among the three schemes designed according to these main influential factors, the Scheme 3, with the highest degree of closeness, emerged as the optimal design scheme. Integrating regional cultural characteristics into the visual image design of the Luoyang Urban Cultural Living Room can effectively express Luoyang's unique traits and culture, better integrate the image into people's lives, cater to aesthetic concepts, fulfill spiritual and cultural needs, and enhance Luoyang's cultural confidence and heritage. This approach also offers new insights and methodologies for innovative visual image design in the cultural living rooms of other cities. Additionally, through a comprehensive evaluation method, design schemes can be ranked in a more scientific and objective manner, thereby validating the specificity and effectiveness of the design.
