Abstract

The work aims to explore the needs of women living alone for intelligent healthy cooking products in the context and trend of healthy eating and investigate the innovative directions and opportunities within the "single-serving" economy. Based on the hybrid insights approach, the study first conducted a NVivo text analysis to code and categorize the needs list for intelligent healthy cooking products. Then, the KANO model was applied to categorize these needs, allowing for a better understanding of their types and characteristics. Finally, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) were used to calculate the weights of different user needs attributes. Based on the analysis of user needs, the study consolidated four design strategies for intelligent healthy cooking products targeted at women living alone, which were then applied in corresponding design practices. The results of these design practices demonstrate that the NVivo text analysis-KANO-AHP method, guided by the hybrid insights approach, helps clarify the content, types, and priority of user needs. This provides valuable insights and methodologies for the design of intelligent healthy cooking products and other related products, assisting designers in developing effective design insights and solutions within complex social contexts and challenges.
