Abstract
The work aims to address the problem of insufficient industrial culture in Wuhan's urban cultural expression system, explore the path and design method of industrial culture gene translation using "Wuhan Gifts" as a carrier, and explore the feasibility of designing industrial culture into daily contexts. First, a combination of qualitative and quantitative research was carried out to collect information and data to complete the screening of industrial culture genes and the establishment of a thesaurus of sensory vocabulary. Then, a 5-level Likert scale was created by the semantic differential method, and questionnaire research and factor analysis were carried out to clarify users' preference genes. Finally, a design strategy was put forward based on the theory of emotional hierarchy. The analysis results showed that Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge was a typical representative of Wuhan's industrial culture and one of the genes of industrial culture with a high degree of cognition. Centering on this result, a design strategy was developed based on the design methodology of "shape - landscape - empathy". Based on this result, the packaging design of "Tea Tank" was completed. In conclusion, the design of "Wuhan Gifts" based on the translation of industrial culture genes can effectively guide the translation of Wuhan's industrial culture by exploring users' cognitive preferences and satisfying their emotional needs, which is of good applicability and application value, and can help to further improve Wuhan's urban culture expression system.
