Abstract
To solve the problems such as lack of humanization and fuzzy user needs in the design of intelligent wheelchair for elderly users, the work aims to propose a design method of intelligent wheelchair for elderly users integrated with Kano/AHP/TOPSIS (KAT) model. KAT model was applied to the design and development of intelligent wheelchair. Firstly, 17 needs of elderly users were obtained through observation, user interview, market research and other channels, and Kano model was used to divide them into different attributes. Secondly, the AHP method was introduced to solve the weight value of user needs of different attributes, and it was clear that toilet convenience, comfort, health detection, shade (rain) shed, remote control and massage were important user needs, according to which the scheme was conceived and designed. Finally, TOPSIS method was used to evaluate the design scheme comprehensively, and the best design scheme was obtained. The product design model integrated with Kano/AHP/TOPSIS of intelligent wheelchairs for the elderly could more accurately analyze the attributes and weights of user needs and standardize the evaluation process of subsequent design schemes. With the conceptual design of intelligent wheelchairs as an example, the final output scheme had a high degree of applicability and could greatly improve user satisfaction. KAT model is feasible in the design of intelligent wheelchair products for the elderly, and can provide a design path for the research and development of similar intelligent wheelchair products for the elderly.
