Abstract

The work aims to summarize the coupling mechanism and common laws between the philosophy of "following nature" and modern art design, and to provide theoretical exploration and empirical research for the integration of traditional philosophical ideas into the design of health care and elderly-oriented products. Starting from the concept of "following nature", multi-dimensional cultural genes were extracted based on the structural differences of the three levels of culture. By analyzing the adaptability logic between cultural genes, elderly characteristics, and user experience types, and with cultural thinking at the levels of aesthetics, utility, and meaning as media, the mechanism and innovative transformation path of the "following nature" concept in health care and elderly-oriented products was explored, and specific design criteria in the dimensions of human, time, and space were constructed. The conclusion demonstrates the contemporary value of applying the concept of "following nature" to health care and elderly-oriented products, constructing aesthetic values of products from a humanistic perspective, achieving ease of perception in product representation forms, and reducing cognitive load on elderly users; It constructs product usage value from a time dimension, achieves phased demand response of product functional structure, and provides care services for full cycle health care; It also constructs the social value of products from the spatial dimension, realizes the bidirectional empowerment between elderly users and society driven by the connotation and significance of products, and injects new vitality into the harmonious development of a healthy aging society.
