Abstract

This study aims to explore and practice a user-centered design approach for minimalist furniture, focusing on meeting users' needs. By systematically reviewing minimalist design theories and integrating literature, field observations, and classic case studies, this research delves into the essence of minimalist furniture design—a harmonious blend of simplicity with functionality, pursuing the beauty of essence and an optimal user experience. The study emphasizes the profound exploration of user needs, proposing a series of innovative design strategies from multiple dimensions including comfort, practicality, material texture, and color coordination. Through a comprehensive application of both qualitative and quantitative research methods, this study effectively addresses key issues such as balancing aesthetics with functionality in minimalist design and accurately aligning with users' emotions and needs. In the process of user-centered minimalist furniture design, adhering to a people-oriented design philosophy, prioritizing comfort, preserving authenticity by discarding elaborate decorations, emphasizing details for enhanced texture, and skillfully utilizing color psychology are crucial to effectively satisfying and exceeding users' expectations. This approach brings forth fresh insights and directions to the field of minimalist furniture design.
