Influencing Factors of Intention to Use Elderly Intelligent Walkers Based on STS-TAM Fusion Model

Abstract

The work aims to explore the factors that affect the elderly users' willingness to use intelligent walkers, improve their acceptance rate of intelligent walkers, promote their social participation, and provide feasible suggestions for the design of walkers. Based on the Technology Acceptance Model and the Sociotechnical System theory, the STS-TAM fusion model of the intention to use elderly intelligent walkers was constructed. Based on this model, the research hypothesis was carried out, and the structural equation model was used to collect the questionnaire data for analysis. Twenty-two hypotheses were proposed, 20 of which were verified, and the influence weights of each variable on the intention of the elderly to use intelligent walkers were analyzed, indicating that social factors and technical factors jointly affected the intention to use intelligent walkers. STS-TAM fusion model enables designers to consider the needs of the elderly more comprehensively, and helps to develop intelligent walkers that better meet the needs of elderly users, thus improving their quality of life and social activity.
